Sunday, November 23, 2008 ❤ 1:37 PM Campus joke of the year: Political dictatorship. Believe it or not, for the so-called elite Wuhan class, there is such an issue of class politics. Nope, this issue hasn't arise in one day or two, but since the beginning of the programme back in late August. Funny as it seems, such class politics has surfaced even in the smallest issue. For example, forming a suitable grouping for just a project. No, I'm not trying to pinpoint anyone here - pardon me if I did offend anyone in any way possible - but rather, I'm penning down my views on such a joke. One thing to clarify beforehand: my stand in this issue would be of an observer. I'm not given a choice in anything; meaning, no one really sought my opinion in regards to who I really want to work with. In a way, my identity in the class puts me more in a position of an outsider / reject. Not that I cared, 'cause all I want is to get over and done with the project hopefully without many glitches. Here are some of the laughs I got out of the issue: 1. "You make the choice for us." Many of us are just the ones being chosen. Oh well, since you regard yourself as the boss. 2. "I must get this." Yes, we get your awfully strong desire to work together. Not that we don't have an urge to work with particular groups of people. 3. "You are just a tool." Sure thing. So are you to me. 4. "No matter the time, a team has to be formed." People actually spent time discussing and deciding over this. In a week. Gee. No, it's not that I don't want to elaborate more here. Just that, these words are clear enough. No offense again, though. It's only the irony of the issue I'm laughing at. - - RZ, the forgotten - - |
